Built on 35 Years of Getting It Right
Future Projects was founded by Scott Wallis — a hands-on electrical and low-voltage contractor who started his career on the tools in England in 1988 and has spent over three decades delivering complex security, communications, and infrastructure projects across the UK, Europe, and British Columbia.
By 2001, Scott had founded his own business in the UK — Future Projects Ltd — growing it from scratch into a company delivering projects worth up to £1.5 million. Over 18 years he built and led multi-disciplinary teams on everything from super yachts and Grade II listed buildings to factories, schools, hospitals, and multi-site commercial estates. Clients included Lloyd's Register, Serco, and DAI Europe.
In 2019 Scott relocated to Canada, and by 2022 Future Projects was re-established in West Kelowna — bringing that depth of international experience to Okanagan businesses. In just three years the company has completed over 100 projects across the region, earning the long-term trust of clients including CMHA Kelowna, Walmart, Bosch, Unity, and Telecon.
One Company. One Call. Your Whole Building Protected.
Most security and technology contractors do one thing. They install cameras, or they run cable, or they set up a network. When something goes wrong — or when systems don't talk to each other — you're left calling three different companies and getting passed between them.
Future Projects is different because we do all of it.
We design, install, connect, and maintain complete security and technology systems under one roof — CCTV surveillance, access control, structured cabling, network infrastructure, intercoms, communications systems, and low voltage electrical. Every component is designed to work together as a whole, not a collection of parts installed by people who've never met each other.
One point of contact. One company accountable for the result. Based in West Kelowna and serving businesses across Kelowna, Vernon, Penticton, Kamloops, and Lake Country.
Built for What Okanagan Businesses Are Facing Right Now
Crime and vandalism are rising across the Okanagan. Business owners in Kelowna, Vernon, Kamloops, and Penticton are dealing with break-ins, smashed windows, and the daily cost of feeling exposed on their own premises.
Most security systems only record what's already happened. We install cloud-based, AI-powered camera systems that detect a person or vehicle approaching your premises in real time, classify the threat, and send an instant alert to your phone — with the ability to trigger audio and visual warnings so a trespasser knows they've already been seen. The system can even detect loitering before anything happens and alert you while there's still time to act. That's deterrence — not footage of the damage after the fact.
Every system is professionally installed on a solid network, properly integrated across your whole building, and backed by an ongoing maintenance plan — so your protection never lets you down when you need it most.

Case Study
CMHA Kelowna — Multi-Site Security Across Six Buildings
Client: Canadian Mental Health Association, Kelowna
Sector: Non-profit / Affordable Housing / Social Services
Scope: CCTV surveillance and access control across six residential and administrative buildings
Location: Kelowna, BC
The Challenge
CMHA Kelowna manages multiple residential buildings and support facilities across the city, housing vulnerable residents who depend on a safe, secure environment. Their existing security infrastructure had grown organically over time — different systems, different installations, no central oversight. Staff had no unified way to monitor what was happening across sites, and fault resolution was slow and reactive.
They needed a single trusted contractor who could bring everything together, keep the systems running, and be there when something went wrong.
What We Did
Future Projects designed and deployed a centralised Milestone XProtect platform covering all six buildings — giving CMHA a single dashboard to monitor live and recorded footage across every site from one location. IP cameras were installed and configured at each building, with remote access enabling staff and management to view footage securely from any device.
Ongoing maintenance and rapid response support was established to ensure the system stays operational — with Future Projects serving as the single point of contact for all security technology across the portfolio.
The Result
CMHA Kelowna now has a unified, professionally managed security infrastructure across all six sites — monitored centrally, maintained proactively, and supported by a contractor who understands the unique requirements of residential care and social housing environments.
"Future Projects manage our CCTV and door access systems across five sites, and they've been excellent. Reliable, easy to deal with, and any issues are resolved quickly. We'd recommend them without hesitation."
— Ron Brewer, Director of Facilities & Safety, CMHA Kelowna
